Abstract

Pentamethylene disulphine, (CH2)5S2N2, prepared by the action of ammonium sulphide on formaldehyde, or the product obtained by adding sulphur to it, is used (1) as a resin in a moulding composition containing a filler, (2) as a plasticizer in plastic moulding compositions, (3) as a plasticizer, antiager, and accelerator in rubber vulcanization. The pentamethylene disulphine or the sulphur-enriched modification may also be condensed with urea and used for purposes (2) and (3). As fillers for (1) are specified albumenous substances, phenol aldehydes and urea aldehydes, wood pulp, starch, asbestos, lithopone ; as other components in (2) albumenous substances, shellac, or formaldehyde condensation products, e.g. urea formaldehyde. They may be used in the nascent state by moistening the fillers or plastic masses with formaldehyde and then with ammonium sulphide or vice versa.ALSO:Pentamethylene disulphine, (CH2)5S2N2, prepared by the action of ammonium sulphide on formaldehyde, or the product obtained by adding sulphur to it, is used (1) as a resin in a moulding composition containing a filler, (2) as a plasticizer in plastic moulding compositions, (3) as a plasticizer, antiager and accelerator in rubber vulcanization.
