[Class 144 (ii).] A tyre tread comprises soft rubber ribs D<1>, D2, D3 projecting outwardly beyond relatively hard rubber ribs E<2> .. E<5> with a soft rubber cushion layer D extending across the tyre between the tread and the casing. As shown, the tread ribs are spaced by V-section grooves.
