Abstract
356,272. Automatic exchange systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., Columbia House, Aldwych, London.- (Hatton, W. ; 46, Avenue de Breteuil, Paris.) June 6, 1930, No. 17571. Drawing to Specification. [Class 40 (iv).] In a switch which may hunt more than once over the same group of trunks until an idle one is found, a traffic meter connected to the last test terminal in the group is operated only once for each busy condition although the terminal to which it is connected may be engaged more than once. The invention is described with reference to a rotary power-driven group selector of the trip-spindle type having one level for each group, and hunting is arranged to take place in two positions of the controlling sequence-switch. In the first position, the group is searched once and when the last set of terminals is reached a special contact closed only in this position of the wipers connects up battery to operate the meter and to advance the sequence-switch to the second hunting position in which the battery connection is opened so that hunting continues as long as necessary, but the meter is not again operated.
