Abstract

355,205. Refrigerating; heat-exchange apparatus. ELECTROLUX, Ltd., 153, Regent Street, London.-(Assignees of Lenning, A. ; 2, Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm.) Feb. 17, 1930, No. 5244. Convention date, Feb. 18, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Classes 29 and 64 (iii).] Absorption machines ; tubes with internal baffles.- Baffles inserted in the tubes of heat exchangers, particularly the exchangers used in the gas circuits of continuous-cycle absorption refrigerating systems, Fig. 1 (not shown), containing inert gas, comprise inclined vanes 47, 48 struck up from blanks. The baffles for the inner tube 40 may be formed by pressing a sheet into cup form, drilling holes at the centre and rim of the base, and then cutting and bending the segments of the base so that they are inclined to the general flow of fluid when inserted in the tube. The baffles for the space between the tubes are similarly formed on ring-shaped members 49 fitting around the outer wall of the inner tube.
