353,530. Casting bearing- liners. FUCHS, R., 34, Bambergerstrasse, Lichtenrade, Berlin. April 30, 1930, No. 13309. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 18, 1930.] [Class 83 (i).] Moulds.-A device for casting bearing- liners, especially for internal-combustion engines, has a base a with a mandrel b over which is placed a core c and sealing tubes n, o, p, with staggered slots. The core is clamped on asbestos packing q by a bolt e and the split tubes make a tight joint with the base by reason of packing q placed below the tube o and enclosed by pushing down the tube p. The half bearing-brasses 9 are supported by wings k bent outwardly from double-thickness dividing plates i which may be opened out slightly at the top to permit the subsequent insertion of a wedge or tool to separate the two castings. The whole is closed by a cover A carrying a thermomenter or thermostat B so that a definite uniform temperature may be obtained when a flame is applied to the bottom. Casting machines.- The process may be carried out by means of a molten metal supply x, Fig. 4, arranged above and two burners S, S<1> below a rotary table R which has recesses 1 .. 4 for four moulds and which can be locked in any of four positions by a latch T.
