Abstract
352,317. Ventilating-shafts. SOUTHALL, J., Worcester Foundry, Foundry Street, Worcester. Sept. 16, 1930, No. 27599. [Class 137.] To reduce the cooling effect on the air passing up them, metal shafts used for ventilating sewers and other underground chambers are lined with plywood preferably treated with a preservative such as solignum, creosote, tar, or oil. The wood is bent into pipe form for insertion into the duct, its natural resiliency serving to keep it in position.
