Abstract
Free thiourea is incorporated as an accelerator with plastic moulding compositions containing synthetic resin consisting substantially of urea-aldehyde condensation products. In an example, a urea-formaldehyde condensation product is mixed with 2 to 10 per cent of thiourea while being ground, preferably from 1 to 2 hours before the grinding is finished, and the mixture then heated in a mould.ALSO:Free thiourea is incorporated as an accelerator with plastic moulding compositions containing synthetic resin consisting substantially of urea formaldehyde condensation products. In an example a moulding powder is mixed with 2 to 10 per cent of thiourea while being ground, preferably from 1 to 2 hours before the grinding is finished. This addition enables the moulding powder to be moulded in the usual commercial time, i.e. about 3 1/2 minutes at 140 DEG C.
