350,115. Ball games. HERZ, L., 126, Crouch Hill, Hornsey, London. April 3, 1930, No. 10553. [Class 132 (ii).] An appliance for playing a ball game comprises a handle 3, a bifurcated end 4 to the handle, an unequal-armed lever 5 pivotally mounted in the bifurcated end, a cup 6 on the arm, a tension spring 8 located in the bifurcation and anchored to the end of the short arm of the lever and to the upper end of the handle to normally maintain the lever in a straight line with the handle, and a net 9 or equivalent associated with the handle to catch and hold the ball. The net may be detachable for packing purposes, or may be connected to the handle by a spring and slot arrangement 12, 13 so that the net may be turned through 90‹ into the plane of the handle. In playing a, game, the player projects the ball from the cup 6 by pulling back the lever by means of a trigger portion 7 and suddenly releasing it to permit the spring to return the lever. A second player endeavours to catch the ball in the net 9 of a similar appliance.
