Abstract
347,191. Liquid sprayers for agricultural purposes. WINKEL, P. K., Dybvad, Denmark. Jan. 23, 1930, No. 2349. [Class 6 (ii).] Liquid - spraying apparatus comprises a high-speed atomizing disc 24 which has a generally concave or dished upper surface and is provided with one or more cont i n u o u s concentric corrugations constituting obstructions to interrupt and prevent direct radial motion of the liquid from the centre of the disc to its periphery. The liquid container 1 is mounted on a carriage 2, 3, and the atomizing disc is carried by a shaft arranged within a casing 13 and driven by worm connection inside the casing and a sprocket drive from the ground wheels. The ratio of gearing in the worm connection is sufficiently high to enable normal movement of the ground wheels to rotate the disc at a very high speed. A pipe 12 delivers liquid under pressure from the container on to the surface of the disc, where it is distributed by a jet-divider and sprayed out by centrifugal action.
