347,172. Pneumatic tyre pressure gauges. TURNER, W., 44, Eyre Lane, Sheffield. Dec. 19, 1929, No. 38961. [Class 106 (ii).] Comprises a combined tyre pressure gauge and inflating connection wherein means are provided for successively cutting out the pressure guage and unseating the valve which normally cuts off communication between source of fluid pressure and the tyre and gauge, so that the tyre can be placed in communication with the source of air pressure only after the gauge has been cut out. The casing A is provided with the nipples B, B<1> for connection to a storage tank and tyre respectively and has attached to it a pressure gauge C. Communication between the nipples B, B<1> is normally cut off by a spring-pressed valve D which is pushed back by the stem J of a push J<1> to place the tyre in communication with the passage E and nipple B. During this operation a plunger K obturates the aperture Eo and cuts off communication with the gauge. The latter comprises a narrow barrel F in which works a plunger G, the stem G<1> of which at the other end is attached to a wider graduated cylinder H. A spring I is attached at one end to a cap N through which the end of the piston rod passes, while the other end of the spring is attached to a nut M on a screwed part of the barrel F, a lock nut M<1> being provided. A spring valve L may be pressed in at any time to relieve or exhaust pressure fluid from the space E. Specification 329,505, [Class 106 (ii), Dynamometers &c.], is referred to.
