[Class 60.] In the manufacture of a safety razor blade comprising flexible sections 24 which lie between inflexible edge-sections 22 and an inflexible midsection 23, the thinned sections 24 are produced first by rolling two ridges on a heated steel strip 10, Fig. 1, and the upper surface of the strip is thereafter ground plane by a grinding wheel acting in opposition to a guide roller similar to the lower roller in Fig. 1.
