Abstract

345,198. Drying tea &c. MAIN, J. A., Clydesdale Ironworks, Possilpark, Glasgow. Nov. 7, 1929, No. 34019. [Class 34 (ii).] Some of the permeable shelves 1 of a vertical series particularly adapted for drying tea, are pivoted at 2, the remaining shelves 4 being fixed, whereby the front spacing may be widened during spreading. The shelves 4, though remaining fixed during spreading, may be pivoted in hook bolts 8, and may carry the tilting shelves 5 on spring brackets 6, each pair of shelves being lowered together for discharging. The tilting shelves may be left alternately raised and lowered at their front ends, during drying, to force the conditioning air through the leaf.
