343,888. Tree-felling saws. JONGHI, T. R., 8, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Milan, Italy. Nov. 19, 1929, No. 35324. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1928. [Class 145 (ii).] In a portable power-driven chain saw suitable for cutting timber the chain 1, having cutting teeth on its links, is carried by sprocket wheels 2, 3, one of which 3 is driven directly by an internal-combustion engine. The other sprocket wheel 2 is carried by a split member 11 adapted to slide on the split slotted end of the guide-bar 30 fixed to the engine casing. A spring 39, adjusted by means of a screwed handle 37, presses the sprocket wheels apart and keeps the chain tight. Hand guards 15. 26 are provided, near the handles 37, 29. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the teeth of the saw may be formed separately from the chain links and mounted thereon. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
