Abstract
342,912. Picture books. CHAD VALLEY CO., Ltd., Chad Valley Works, Harborne, and WHITEHOUSE, F. R. B., Fairdays, Barlows Road, Edgbaston, both in Birmingham. Feb. 15, 1930, No. 509R. [Class 16.] A picture book comprises pages bearing model or guiding pictures 5, and adjacent receptacles 6 containing jigsaw pieces 9 for assembly on the pictures 5. The jigsaw pieces may be coloured and adhesive. The pictures may be printed directly either in outline or in monochrome on the pages, or may be printed on separate members secured in the book. The receptacle 6 may be a flapped envelope and may be of transparent or translucent material. Means such as additional strips of cardboard may be provided at or adjacent the binding edge of the book to compensate for the additional thickness of the leaves or pages produced by the receptacles 6 and their contents. The insides of the covers 2 of the book may serve also to receive respectively a receptacle 6 and a picture 5.
