[Class 97 (ii).] An instrument for measuring the lateral inclination of railway track comprises a metal tube 1 formed with a slot 2 to receive a graduated bubble tube 3. The ends of the tube are plugged by wooden buttons 7 to which are secured feet 10 engageable with the rails. One or both of the feet may be electrically insulated from the tube.
