Abstract

340,742. Extracting juice from lemons. ELLIOTT, C. E. and NICHOLS, L. O., 1619, Walnut Street, Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.A. Dec. 10, 1929, No. 37864. [Class 28 (ii).] The cut lemon is placed over a looped wire 50, arranged in a vertical plane and having the width of its base larger than the diameter of the lemon. A holder 5, with inwardly projecting teeth 47, is placed over the lemon and revolved by a handle 11 whereby the lemon is revolved and its base distorted into an ellipse by the wire loop 50. The loop 50 is removably secured to the base of the cup-shaped juice receptacle 2 and may be supported at its centre by a similar but smaller wire 51. The holder 5 is provided with a flange 8 which prevents the passage of pips &c. when the juice receptacle is tilted. The juice receptacle and holder are hinged together at 28.
