Abstract
340,544. Shuttleless looms. BALLUFF, W., 48A, Neckarstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. July 25, 1929, No. 22841. [Class 142 (ii).] Two or more fabrics or plies, looms specially designed for.-The weft inserting hooks &c. are operated by lazytongs having long and short links f, f<1>. The long links are fixed at g and connected at h to a cam-operated bell-crank m and are guided by ball or roller bearings packed with grease. The short links f<1> which alone enter the shed have a hook or a gripper p secured to the extreme pivot and a casing or pusher e secured to the adjacent pivot. This ensures that the hook &c. is projected beyond the pusher, and also the opening and closing of the gripper p, Fig. 9, by means of pins t, w which are fixed in the casing e and displace a roller s from one pair of recesses r in the gripper jaws to another pair of recesses r<1>. By means of an endless band 2, Fig. 1, the two sets of lazytongs at opposite sides of the loom may be operated by a single bell-crank m. When two or more superposed fabrics are to be woven each set of long links f, Fig. 10, carries two or more sets of short links f<1>, hooks, &c.
