Abstract

339,834. Goodrich Go., B. F., (Assignees of Jones, P. C.). Jan. 21, 1929, [Convention date]. Hydrazines.-Tetra substituted hydrazines are produced by the controlled oxidation of secondary aromatic amines; for example, tetraphenyl hydrazine is formed by the addition of the theoretical amount of potassium permanganate in acetone solution to diphenylamine in acetone. Other compounds referred to are tetrabenzyl, tetratolyl, tetrahydroxy, tetraphenyl, tetrachlorphenyl, tetra(p-aminophenyl), dihydroxy tetraphenyl, dihydroxy tetratolyl, diphenyl ditolyl, dianisyl diphenyl hydrazines.
