Abstract
338,511. Herbert, E. G. Aug. 16, 1929. Loaves and blocks, treatment of.-A process for modifying the physical properties of substances such as sugar consists in subjecting the substances to the action of a concentrated locally generated magnetic field or like flux or vibration other than heat, the field &c. having a relative movement with respect to the substances. The field &c. may be alternating or rotating; or the substance may be passed through a solenoid, which may be energized by high-frequency alternating current. Specifications 207,876 and 301,762, [both in Class 106 (iv), Indicating &c.], are referred to.
