Abstract

338,270. Binney, M. M. S. Sept. 16, 1929. Stands. - A case of the kind comprising an inner rectangular container 1 and an outer member 3 surrounding the inner container in the closed position, the two being pivoted together about approximately the centre 5 of their opposite sides, has a hinged lid 2 covering the lower portion of the front of the inner container in the closed position and adapted to be secured as shown when the case is opened out. A central partition 6 is fixed in the container 1. Trays 4, 8 are provided on the member 3 and lid 2 respectively, and these trays and also the upper and lower portions of the container 1 are provided with partitions 15. The lid 2 is secured in the raised position by a hook device 14, and in the lowered position by a catch 12. The case is opened out to form a display box for shoes, &c. which are retained therein by transverse, rigid or resilient metal rods or cords 10, lengths of elastic, &c., these supports being so arranged that one set of shoes is toe upwards and the opposite set in the reverse order. Wood, cardboard, leather, &c., may be used for the case which may have a carrying handle on the member 3, or be formed to resemble, when closed, an article of furniture. According to the Provisional Specification, the case may be made of metal and may have a lock &c.
