Abstract
337,840. Moiseiwitsch, J. Aug. 13, 1929. Protractors.-A protractor comprises two radius arms 4, 5 pivoted at 3 and provided with index parts 1, 6 adapted to slide over one another, the part 1 having concentric groups of holes 8 and the part 6 a row of equally spaced holes 7 by which the instrument may be set and held tu mark any required angle. The pivot pin 3, which may be pointed to mark the point of reference, and the pivot apertures in the arms may be tapered to enable the parts to be held rigidly together, and slides 11, 12 provided with marking apertures 15, 16 or adjustable pencil points are adjustably clamped on the radius arms by setscrews 13, 14. The slides may have fingers projecting at right angles to the arms to adapt the instrument for marking a cylindrical surface.
