Abstract
337,111. Roos, H. W. April 1, 1929, [Convention date]. Moulding concrete floors in situ.-An apparatus for use in the construction of concrete floors comprises a plurality of shores each of which supports, by releasable means pivoting or sliding thereon, two or more of the shutter panels, and means for removing one shutter panel from between the adjacent panels. A shore 1, Fig. 2, has a metal head 2 with radially extending ribs 3. To an ear 5 of each rib 3 is pivoted a shutterpanel support or bracket 6 which is held in its operative or raised position by a releasable wedge 7 and supports, in its raised position, the adjacent corners of two shutter panels 13. The shutter panels and a platform 4 on the shore head 2 form a plane and uninterrupted support for the floor. One panel may be released by removing the two brackets which support it, while the remaining two brackets still support the other three shutter panels. To facilitate the withdrawal of a panel, the flanges thereof have vertical slots 18, 19, Figs. 8, 9, and 10, which are normally in vertical, but not horizontal, alignment with slots 19, 18, respectively, of adjacent panels. The withdrawing operation is carried out with the aid of a wedge 20 in the manner illustrated. In a modification, an L-shaped vertical post 43, Fig. 11, is secured to a shore head 41 and carries a top platform 44. Slidably mounted on the post 43 is a shutter-panel support 46 square in form and having inclined walls 47. Each wall 47 has a slot 48 and the corners of the shutter panels are adapted to be received by two adjacent slots. The slots are tapered so that the shutter panels wedge themselves one against the other. The support 46 is held in its upper operative position by a wedge 49. Fig. 1 (not shown) illustrates a telescopic shore for use with shutter-panel supports according to the invention. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a floor constructing apparatus in which the shutter panels rest directly on the shore heads. The shore heads are square in shape and have two deep grooves at right-angles to each other extending from side to side in the form of a cross. The sides of the grooves incline inwardly and downwardly and receive the corners of four shutter panels which wedge themselves one. against the other to form a continuous plane surface for supporting the floor. In this construction, the shores must be removed in order to take down the shutter panels. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
