Abstract

336,654. Ballh÷fer, H. Feb. 7, 1929, [Convention date]. Oil gas. - In liquid gasifying apparatus comprising a preliminary gasifying vessel, a final gasifying vessel, a superheater and a movable main burner, the final gasifying vessel is provided with a helical baffle. The liquid-fuel container c communicates with a pipe d to the preliminary gasifying vessel p and from the latter the pipe s leads to the top of the final gasifying vessel q. The gas from q is led off by pipe e, which connects with the fuel container by pipe h serving to hold the fuel under pressure, and passes to the main burner r by pipe t, which is twisted into a helix x to form a superheater for the gas. The latter is heated by the burner f supplied with gas through a branch pipe u and the burner also serves to heat the gasifying vessels and to preheat the fuel container. The connection to pipe g is of such length as to enable the nozzle r to be introduced into the furnace to be heated. Solid fuel may be introduced into the preliminary gasifying chamber p.
