Abstract

335,829. Hirsch Kupfer-und Messing- Werke Akt.-Ges., and Heraeus Vacuumschmelze Akt.-Ges. Dec. 6, 1928, [Convention date]. Condensers.-A battery of condensers is cooled by means of medium flowing in tubes arranged within the oil-filled casing. These tubes may be near the surface of the oil &c. filling and supported either by the cover or the side walls as in Fig. 1 wherein tube-clips 5 fit to brackets 4 above the condensers 1 in the casing 2. The tubes may be embedded in or secured to the side walls, may pass through the axis of wound condenser-elements or may pass between layers of plates within the elements. In a further modification, Fig. 3, the tubes are used as leads, flow and return pipes 19, 18 circulating the cooling medium, which may be an insulating medium or a gas, through boxes 16 secured to the connected plates 10, 11 of the condenser.
