Abstract

335,229. Yrarrazaval, G. G. de Andia-. March 20, 1929. Loud-speakers.-A combined wireless receiver and loud-speaker comprises a receiving set located inside a hollow body above which a sound reproducing unit and a sound reflector are carried by arms projecting upward from a platform on the top of the hollow body. The body 1, Fig. 1, may be of ornamental shape and carries the receiver 3 mounted on the underside of a platform 2. The loud-speaker 5 is carried on arms 2a the sound being directed upwards bv a sound tube 6 on to a 45‹ cone reflector 8 which is carried by supports 7. The cone 8 carries an ornamental shade 9 which may constitute the aerial, and a number of lamps 10 may be carried by a hollow bead 11 on the sound tube 6, the leads from the aerial, lamps and loud-speaker passing down the hollow supports 7, 2a. In a modification, Fig. 4, not shown, the loud-speaker is mounted above the reflector on a baffle board, while a further embodiment Fig. 5 not shown incorporates a horn type loud-speaker with the unit mounted at the apex of the shade, a sound reflector also being employed. Switches are provided for the electric lamps and loud-speaker, with plug and socket connections for connecting the receiver to another loud-speaker and also to a gramophone pick-up.
