Abstract

Bottling.-Relates to bottling-machines of the type in which a latch is provided to hold each bottle support in the filling position, and provided with means to disengage the latch and permit the descent of the bottle. According to the invention the latch 14 of each lifting-block 2 is adapted to engage two or more teeth 13 thereon, so that the plunger 3 may be raised to two or more positions according to the heights of the bottles being dealt with in the machine. A take-off cam 26 is fixed in the path of the rollers 12 to control the descent of the plunger 3 after the latch has been released. A release cam 18 is provided which engages a roller 17 to disengage the latch 14.. The take-off cam 26 may be made self-adjustable by pivoting one end and introducing a spring at the other. A spring 8 is interposed between the telescopic parts of the plungers 3. In a rotary machine the plunger 3 may be raised by a cam 21 and lever 22, and lowered by a spring.
