Abstract

332,227. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). April 16, 1929. Diazonium salts of complex metallic fluoric acids are made by causing a complex metallic fluoric acid or a salt thereof to act on a diazonium compound. They may be used in dyeing and printing and for combating insect pests. Specified acids are titanium, aluminium, tin and antimony hexafluoric acids and antimony and zinc tetrafluoric acids. In examples, (1) tetrazotized dianisidine is treated with titanium hexafluoric acid; (2) diazotized 4-aminoazobenzene with aluminium hexafluoric acid, (3) diazotized 1-aminoanthraquinone with tin hexafluoric acid, and (4) diazotized m-nitraniline with antimony tetrafluoric acid. Diazo compounds from aminopolyazo compounds and also from polynuclear carbocyclic, mono- and polynuclear heterocyclic and mixed carbo-heterocyclic com. pounds may be similarly treated.
