Abstract

332,008. Sch³rmann, W., and Gutehoffnungsh³tte Oberhausen Akt.- Ges. May 31, 1929. Fluid governors.-A hydraulic speed-regulator for pit winding-engines and similar hoisting plant wherein a regulator piston and a valve controlling the cross-section area of flow of the pump is utilized, means are provided for changing the ratio of transmission between the piston and the valve motion. The control comprises a pump a the operation of which is governed by a piston b which is coupled by a rod to a pivoted lever h and is also governed by a needle valve e which is coupled to a pivoted lever i. Between these two levers which have wedge surfaces is a roller j which by linkages is coupled to the depth indicator cam. In consequence of the movement of the roller j the relative settings and motion of the two members j and b are altered in accordance with the position of the cage. The lever h leads to the control valve of servo-motor by means of a rod s which acts upon the stop valve of the main steam engine or upon the controls of an electric motor. The sliding surfaces o of the two levers h, i are arranged so that they are parallel to one another when the piston b is in its lowest position whereby the displacement of the sliding member under these conditions has no effect on the needle e.
