Abstract
330,885. Schmitt, J., and Victoria- Werke Akt.-Ges. Dec. 12, 1928. Soldered and brazed joints. - The connection sleeve for a tube or strut connection comprises expanded portions forming cups to receive spelter or solder and constituting closed melting chambers when placed in position on the tube or strut. In joining the frame tubes 3 to the lugs 2 on the sockets 1 of motor cycle frames, cups 6 to receive the solder are formed in the lugs, the tubes being then inserted and heat applied to melt the solder, the vapours generated thereby driving the solder into the joints. The sockets may be made of shaped hollow pressed metal bent to form the hollow body or may be formed in halves welded together. Specification 269,105 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 13815/97.
