Rollers comprised in the invention described in the parent Specification provided with a moulded covering of abrasive material of substantial thickness, say from one sixteenth of an inch, are modified by forming the covering of bonded abrasive grains, for example in the manner described in Specification 330,322, of a thickness equal to two or more layers of the grains, in contrast to the known method of " surface abrasive coating " comprising a layer of grain secured to a surface by means of an adhesive.
