Pistons.-Unscrewing of a piston-head a, which is secured to the skirt c by square screw threads d, is prevented by means of one or more springs e stretched between the head and the skirt. The head may be of light metal and the skirt of iron, clearance being left at the bottom of the screw-threads to allow for expansion. The head is provided with heat-radiating fins f. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the piston head may be secured to the skirt by discontinuous screw threads, or by a bayonet joint. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
