Abstract
329,055. Grierson, R., and Grierson, Ltd. Feb. 25, 1929. Electrical radiators.-In a system of electric heating, a panel comprises a slab of cork or other heat-insulating material having insulated wires arranged symmetrically on and clear of the slab and a thin coating of plaster in which the wires are embedded and retained in position on the slab. The cork slab A, which may be secured to a cement asbestos backing a<1>, is placed on the work bench between L-shaped strips B and spaced therefrom by wood packing-pieces b<3>. The strips B carry movable and adjustable bars b<1> provided with pegs b<2> over which the wire a<2> is wound so as to be clear of the slab A. Plaster of paris is then poured over the wires a<2> on to the slab A until the surface of the plaster is level with the upper surface of the wires. When the plaster has set, the tightening-screws b<4> are loosened so as to free the bars b<1>, leaving the slab A with the coating of plaster in which the wires a<2> are embedded. The bars b<1> may be constructed so that the pegs b<2> project through holes in the slab A, the whole surface of which mav then be covered by the plaster. Small boxes a<4> are countersunk in the slab A for making connections between the slabs, which are fastened end to end on the ceiling &c. and covered with a finishing coat of plaster from which the heat is radiated.
