Mechanical constructions, details for building up. - In a constructional toy made up of a number of detachable parts capable of sliding one upon another, a piece of rubber, leather, textile or other frictional material on one part is adapted elastically to grip and hold another part in any desired position of adjustment. A washer 5, Fig. 2, is enclosed within the boss 4 of a pulley formed of a pair of flanged discs 1, 2. The washer is provided with a central hole 6 to receive a shaft 7 which is thereby gripped in any desired position. Similarly, girder elements 8, 11, Fig. 3, may be connected by fibre shoes 9 that may be attached either to a flange of one element or within a socket of the other.
