Knickers.-Ladies' knickers of the wholly closed type have the seam which extends from between the legs up the front and back reinforced by a piece of material 14 of the shape of an arrow and extending from the waist band at the back to a point 18 on the seam in the front, the edges of the reinforcement diverging as they approach the seams 17 extending across the insides of the legs, and then converging to the point in the front seam. The reinforcement may be continued at 19 to the waist band in front. The waist-band 20 in front is flat and inextensible, while at the back it is gathered on to elastic.
