Abstract
328,530. Thompson, F. M. Sept. 13, 1929. Horticultural knives.-A grafting or budding knife for use in the cultivation of fruit trees, roses or the like is made of such shape as to facilitate uniform cutting of the required inverted T in the tree-trunk. The tool, which may be of metal or ivory, comprises a bar a having a handle of any desired shape and terminating in a blade b, preferably at right angles to a cutting blade or bark loosener c which forms the lower margin of the bar. The upper part d may also be formed as a knife blade. The margin is curved to correspond to the shape of the bark.
