Hydraulic transmission of power. -Apparatus f o r power transmission comprises driving and driven bladed members, one enclosing the other and containing a liquid, powder, or gas. In one form, the blades 2, 4, Fig. 1, have their edges converging towards the axis in the same direction, and the members are relatively axially adjustable through a distance of at least one-third the length of the outer member. In another form, the shaft 8, Fig. 2. carries blades 6, and the casing has blades 7 alternating therewith and ending in close proximity to the shaft.
