Picking-motions; picking-sticks; shuttles.-In shuttles wherein the cop is mounted on the front of the shuttle body, projections are arranged on one side, preferably the front of the shuttle body, for direct engagement with the picking device. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the shuttle is guided by grooves r<1>, r<2> on its upper and lower faces, while projections k<1>, k<2> are arranged on the front of the shuttle for engagement with the picking-stick s which has a tongue z operated by an eccentric l. The shuttle peg d, pivoted in a box c and acted upon by a spring e, is adapted to carry a cop b, Fig. 5, mounted on a sleeve g provided with a yoke h carrying thread eyes h<2>, h', and having an extension h<1> adapted to be received in a catch i in the shuttle. In use, the yoke is provided with a cop and the weft is threaded through the eyes. The unit shown in Fig. 5, is then placed on the shuttle peg which is turned about its pivot f into its working position, the yoke being retained by the catch i and by flanges g<3> engaging extensions C', C<2> of the sides of the box c. In a modification, the cop is carried in a detachable unit comprising three rods p<1>, p<2>, Fig. 8, and p' (not shown) secured in eyelets y', y2 having pins x<1>, x<2> fitting in holes in the projections k<1>, k<2> engaged by the picking stick, eyes o<1>, o<2>, o' and o<4> (not shown) being provided.
