Abstract

327,447. Kings Patent Agency, Ltd., (Bottcher & Renner). Jan. 4, 1929. Plastic compositions containing animal hair e.g. sheep's wool, alpaca, camel hair, wool noil, and a binder of natural or synthetic rubber &c., are used for inking devices such as rollers, roller covers, &c. Substrata of soft rubber mixtures, leather, hard rubber, &c. may be incorporated. Preferably an accelerator is used which permits vulcanization at a temperature below that of decomposition of the hair. A typical mix contains animal hair, 50 per cent, raw rubber 40, piperidine piperidyl dithiocarbamate 0.36, sulphur 0.52, tar 2.08, magnesium carbonate 2.20, zinc oxide 4, magnesium oxide 0.84 per cent.
