Rods and rod fittings.-A rod ring for holding a porcelain, agate, or like ring comprises one or two separate metal blanks of the form shown in the Figures. Fig. 5 shows a blank having two loops 6 with tails 5 and lugs 7 in staggered relationship, and a narrow integral connecting neck 4 adapted to be folded into the peripheral groove of the ring. Fig. 7 shows two separate blanks shaped to the ring 1, the lugs 9 being bent into the peripheral groove of the ring and the legs 10 soldered together. Blanks each with double legs are also described. Fig. 10 shows a ring with separate blanks 15 united by a spot of solder 17. The shields may be bent into the grooves of the rings or may be attached by a suitable waterproof cement.
