Grates.-A grate for use with furnaces for heating coppers, pans, &c. and having mechanical stokers of the sprinkler type comprises a removable frame d' connected by transverse bars i and mounted on the wheeLs e<1>. The upper edges of the frame carry recessed bars which receive the trunnion shaped ends of transverse firebars h, h', the bars h being provided with tail pieces h<2> interconnected by a bar h<3> by which they are actuated manually or mechanically.
