Roller mills.-In a machine for crushing coke &c. comprising spiked rollers, the crushing elements are constructed in the form of segmental or interrupted rings d - - - - d' provided with spikes c and adapted to be fixedly mounted upon a drum a. The drum is provided with longitudinal grooves a<1>, which are interrupted circumferentially to receive spacing rings h. The segments d, d<2> and d<1>, d' are provided with overlapping projections d<4>, d<5> and d<6>, d' respectively, which enter a groove a<1> in the drum and are secured therein by longitudinal bolts e. The free end of each of these segments is provided with a projection f - - - - f' so that the abutting ends of d, d<1> and d<2>, d' form a two-part projection which enters a groove a' in the drum, and is secured therein by a bolt g. The spacing rings h, Fig. 4, are in two parts, and each part is provided with a central projection h<2> bored to receive the rode. The width of the interrupted circumferential portions of the drum into which the spacing rings h fit are greater than the width of the projections a<1>, so that by withdrawing one bolt e and slacking the nuts on each of the rods g one half of a spacing ring h can be removed and a spiked segment moved laterally for removal or replacement. The spacing rings and spiked segments are secured on the drum by the bolts e and g, which pass through a fixed flange a<2> and a movable flange a'. The spiked segments may be semicircular, in which case the overlapping portions d<4>, d<5> and d<6>, d' are made integral. Specification 218,230 is referred to.
