Abstract
325,581. Imray, 0. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Nov. 22, 1928. Electrodes for storage batteries having an alkaline electrolyte are provided with active, material consisting of oxygen compounds of nickel or cobalt mixed with graphite flakes which will pass through a sieve having a 0.75 mm. mesh but are retained by a sieve 0.06 mm. mesh. The active material is moistened with a viscous watersoluble liquid such as glycerine and the mass subjected to pressure to form tablets which are introduced into perforated pockets and worked up into plates. Alternatively, bars of the active material may be formed which are inserted in perforated tubes which are united together to form electrodes.
