Abstract

324,891. Asquith, Ltd., W., and Feather, G. Aug. 4, 1928. Drilling-machines. -In a motor driven radial drill the motor is mounted on the saddle on the opposite side of the arm to the spindle and is arranged with its axis horizontal. The saddle C has an extension c spanning the arm B, which has guide surfaces as shown. The studs c' carried by the extension serve as pivots for arms c<2> which may be vertically adjustable on the studs. Sole plates c<3> with bolt holes to suit the type of motor selected are angularly and radially adjustable on the arms c<2>. A single motor may thus be adjusted either to drive the spindle direct through a crossshaft D or through a gear box.
