Roll cases.-The ends of the roller 1 of a roll of fabric are supported in a box 5 by detachable box-like bearing members 6 to the back faces 6<1> of which are secured metal sockets 9 which project freely through holes or slots 7 in the front faces of the members 6. The members 6 are passed on to the ends of the roller 1 before the roll is placed in the box or the sockets 9 may be open at the top and lead into slots in the members 6 so that the roller can be entered into therein from the top and fingers may be provided at the sides of the slotted sockets to facilitate the entry of the roller.
