Proving-appliances.-Dough-boards for use in " proving " in bakeries have the long side walls B extended to overlap the short end walls C, and the floor A is fitted at its edges into grooves or recesses in the side walls as shown in Fig. 3, or between fillets or strips of wood fastened on the side walls, or between related parts of the side walls and retaining fillets or strips secured to the side walls to leave the necessary longitudinal recesses. The side walls are extended below the floor to form runners b<1> preferably tapered or bevelled at each end. The joints between the side and end walls may be covered by wooden bumpers D secured by metal corner plates E, and conical helical springs may be secured to the corner plates in place of, or in addition to, the bumpers D. An iron transverse stiffening bar G may be secured to the side bars below the floor; clips H may be used additionally to, or in substitution for, this bar.
