Abstract

Bodies.-Body units such as sides, backs, tops &c. or a combination of such are cast or moulded as an integral' skin with integral ribs or ridges projecting laterally therefrom to constitute strengthening or frame members, upon which members another skin or panelling may be secured. The cast or moulded skin may constitute the inner or outer skin as desired. Fig. 1 shows an outer cast or moulded skin 1 having a projecting lateral rib 2 to which the inner panelling 3 is secured by bolts 4. Fig. 2 shows a side unit in which the cast or moulded skin 1, with lateral rib 2, and inner panelling 3, are secured together by means of a flange 5 on the rib 2 and rivets 4a. In Fig. 3, the integral skin 1 is provided with two ribs 2, 2<a>, to which the panelling 3 is secured by wood screws 4<a>. The cast or moulded material may be fibrous plaster, papier machÚ, cellulose, metal or other suitable material.
