Abstract

321,509. Timings, S. Sept. 20, 1928. Garment racks. - A garment support for a wardrobe &c. consists of a bar, carrying a number of suspending rods, adapted to slide at right angles to its length in or on a supporting rail supported by angle brackets &c. from a vertical surface, means being provided upon the vertical surface for guiding the adjacent end of the bar. In the construction shown a bar 9, carrying swinging suspending rods 17, is slidably suspended from a. channel-shaped guide 1 carried by angle brackets 3 secured to the side 5 of a wardrobe, one end of the bar 9 slidably engaging a guide rail 19 also secured to the side 5. The brackets 3 are pivoted to the guide 1 and both ends of the bar are formed for engagement with the guide rail 19 so that the device may be secured to either side of the wardrobe. The ends of the guide 1 are closed by caps 6 to limit the movement of the bar 9. The sockets 15 to receive the suspending rods 17 are formed with lugs which are passed through slots in the bar 9 and bent over. Each end of the bar 9 has attached thereto a plate 20 bent at 21 to engage the guide rail 19 and formed with a stop 22 to limit the pivotal movement of the outermost rods 17. According to the Provisional Specification either the guide 1 or the rail 19 is provided with stops to limit the sliding movement of the bar 9.
