Abstract
319,801. Anode Rubber Co. (England), Ltd., (Gabor, F.). March 29, 1928. Latex, treating.-A substance coagulable by heat, but normally having a stabilizing or neutral effect on latex, such as proteins of animal or vegetable origin, albumens, or their degradation products, as haemoglobin, white of egg, are added to latex, and the whole is heated e.g. to 80‹- 90‹C to cause the albumen &c. to coagulate, and the mixture to gel. The latex may be ordinary commercial latex, which may have its alkalinity reduced, or it may be concentrated, compounded. vulcanized, and may be mixed with dispersions of rubber waste, reclaim, substitutes, resins. cellulosic substances. The process may be carried out on latex in bulk, or on layers formed by dipping, spreading or spraying, or when the latex is passing through tubes or nozzles. Specifications 252,673, 284.608, 285,844, 293,061, 298,117, and 299,737 are referred to.
