Abstract

319,532. Wagon Repairs, Ltd., and Ferguson, G. R. Stewart-. Oct. 31, 1928. Oil-hole lids and covers.-The front of an axlebox is thickened or outwardly bulged at 5 and has a recess or groove 6 therein within which is housed a closure plate 7 for a lubricant duct 9, the plate 7 and its co-operating parts being wholly located within the recess when the plate 7 is in the closed position. As shown the plate is hinged to a projection 5a in the recess 6 and may be held in either open or closed position by a spring 10. The bulged portion of the axle box has horizontal grooves 5<b> to enable the hinge pin 8 to be assembled. A channel 6a formed on the face of the recess 6 around the outer end of the oil duct 9 drains off water that may enter the recess.
