Abstract

318,944. Standard Telephones & Cables, Ltd., (Deakin, G.). June 13, 1928. Drawings to Specification. Automatic exchange systems.-The lines of multiline groups in the banks of a rotary connector are tested by a marking switch common to a number of connectors. These lines are represented in the marking switch bank by terminals which (except the last of a group) are grounded when the corresponding line is busy. When a multiline group is called, the marker and selector advance in turn one step at a time until the marker reaches the ungrounded terminal of an idle line or of the last of a group. The invention is described with reference to a system identical with that described in Specification 318,945 in which the markers and selectors are power driven switches the markers being controlled by a register controller of reverting- impulse type.
